Certificate in Digital Communication

A unique, graduate-level online education program

In one year or three semesters — while studying from home — students can earn a graduate-level certificate from the nationally acclaimed UNC School of Media and Journalism.

Our unique program comprises three graduate courses taught completely online:

Credit hours

MEJO 711: "Writing for Digital Media"

Fall (15 weeks)

MEJO 712: "Visual Communication and Multimedia"

Spring (15 weeks)

MEJO 713: "Digital Data and Analytics"

Summer (10 weeks, accelerated)

Through this immersion in digital media, you will study how technology has changed the way people live, think and communicate, and pick up valuable skills for communicating in the changing digital world. Classes are small — usually no more than 20 students— to foster a seminar-like atmosphere.

The program, which is aimed at working professionals, offered its first courses in 2003. Students must be admitted to the program before enrolling in classes, which are offered one at a time in fall, spring and summer semesters.
