PRSSA Southeast Regional Conference 2017

The PRSSA chapters of UNC and NC A&T presented "The Modern PR Professional" as 2017's PRSSA Southeast Regional Conference, held on Feb. 24-25, 2017. The conference focused on the changing landscape of the industry, various areas of public relations interests and public relations in current events.

This was the second consecutive year that UNC PRSSA was selected to co-host the annual Southeast Regional Conference. 

Professors Valerie Fields, Joe Cabosky and Livis Freedman from the MJ-school spoke at the confernece, with Professor Gary Kayye being the keynote speaker. The conference also included presentations on navigating the workplace as a young professional, featuring Elizabeth Davis of PivotPR in Charlotte, Liza Deckelbaum of Bolt Public Relations. APCO Worldwide hosted mock interviews and feedback for students, too. 


Carolina Public Relations Student Society of America is UNC-Chapel Hill’s local student chapter of the world’s largest organization of public relations professionals, PRSA. As the official PR Club of the MJ-school, they offer a wide variety of opportunities for students to get involved and gain experience in the PR world. From workshops to conferences and networking nights, to the national Bateman case study competition course; PRSSA is a great way to network with professionals, fine tune your PR skills and gain hands on experience to land a great PR internship or job.
