Society for News Design's 2017 Best of Student Design competition

More than a dozen students from the UNC School of Media and Journalism swept the international Society for News Design’s Best of Student Design competition by winning the most first place, second place and overall awards of any other university. The competition is the top design contest for university students around the world.
The 2017 design contest is the 18th time the Society for News Design has held the international contest and the sixth year in a row that the MJ-school has won the most overall awards of any university. Winners from the six contests can be viewed on the Society for News Design website: 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013 and 2012.
In total, MJ-school students received 16 awards in the 2017 competition: three first place, four second place, one third place and eight honorable mentions.
