MJAA Mentorship Program

Overview

The goal of the UNC School of Media and Journalism's Mentorship Program is to support the educational and professional growth of student participants — and for alumni professionals to play a key role in the development of UNC’s next generation of media and journalism industry leaders. The program is facilitated by the MJ-school and the Media and Journalism Alumni Association (MJAA) Board.

 

Application process

2017-18 Mentorship Program

Mentors and mentees may apply for the 2017-18 academic year mentorship program between April 28 - July 1, 2017. Both mentors and mentees will be chosen and notified by Aug. 1, 2017.

  • Kickoff event: Friday, Sept. 8, 2017
  • Mentee/Mentor Meeting #1: Week of Sept. 24-30, 2017
  • Mentee/Mentor Meeting #2: Week of Nov. 12-18, 2017
  • Mentee/Mentor Meeting #3: Week of Feb. 11-17, 2018
  • Mentee/Mentor Meeting #4: Week of March 25-31, 2018
  • Closing event: Friday, April 20, 2018
Please review your mentor or mentee expectations prior to applying for this program. You will be expected to sign this contract to be admitted to the mentorship program.
